Tanzania Wildlife Breakaway
Yes, you read right; "Tanzania Wildlife Breakaway" and not "Botswana Wildlife Breakaway"... This Tanzania Wildlife Breakaway is one of our brand new East Africa mid-range safaris that we mentioned last month and, yes you guessed it... it was inspired by our very own Botswana Wildlife Breakaway.

By inspired we mean that its going to be run in the same popular manner - clients will travel in either our 12-seater Isuzu 4x4 or our 10-seater Land Cruiser around Tanzania and Kenya, enjoy comfortable camps, can chose between our fully-accommodated or our camping option and stay within East African national parks or other places of interest..
Our Tanzania Wildlife Breakaway safari is a 7-day East African escape. You will start in Arusha and move on towards Tarangire National Park, Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park and then back to Manyara and Arusha! This is a camping or fully accommodated safari. Travellers will enjoy the non-participatory character of the tour when booking the fully accommodated version. When booking the camping version of the tour, clients are asked to only set up their tent, all other tasks will be handled by our crew - you won’t have to do anything else around the camp but relax, take lots of pictures and enjoy East Africa at its best! Priced from EUR 1240 / USD 1550, single supplement is EUR 40/ USD 50.
These aren't our only new East African Safaris... All our tours run with a minimum of 4 clients and in a 4x4 vehicle throughout the tour. A special feature is the non-participation character and a set price throughout the year with 10% low season discounts on some of the departures. East Africa 2012:

Four Countries - One Safari!
Time and time again we have been asked "I want to go on safari, I have never been to Southern Africa before, where should I go?"... well, that’s a tough one for us to answer. Each consultant has their own favourite area; Botswana for the amazing wildlife and perfect weather, Zimbabwe for the history and the hospitality, Namibia for the dunes and red sunsets and South Africa for Table Mountain and the shopping!
Why do you have to choose just one destination? Well, luckily you don't have to! We have the perfect safari which gives you a glimpse into 4 countries all in one small group safari!

22 days Northern Experience: Your journey begins in Cape Town, with spectacular scenery by day and bustling city vibe by night. Head through the Cederberg Mountains, explore the Orange River by canoe and marvel at the Fish River Canyon. Experience breath-taking sand dunes in Sossusvlie and follow the tracks of the elusive desert elephant, after encountering animated creatures at Cape Cross Seal Colony. Continue towards Etosha for wonderful game viewing. Practice your wildlife spotting in the outstanding Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park in Botswana, before ending your safari at the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe!
Now, why would you really want to choose just one country?
This tour is available in camping, half accommodated or a fully accommodated option. Our half accommodated option allows the perfect mix of camping (10 nights) and comfort (11 nights) which we feel is the perfect mix for comfort and your budget! 100 points if you can guess where this picture was taken!
If you are one of our Facebook fans then you already know the answer! Katja (our Marketing Manager) and Rebecca (our Product Manager for East Africa and Madagascar) recently returned from a Zimbabwe adventure - they went on a fact finding trip looking at national parks, highlights, accommodation and routes. Below is one of the areas they visited - can you guess where it is?

If you guessed right then well done... a lot of us in the office had no idea we must admit - all we knew was that we wanted to go there! This image was taken in the Chinhoyi Caves in Zimbabwe. The Chinhoyi Caves are composed of limestone and dolomite, and consist of a system of tunnels and caverns, the extent of which is still unknown. The main feature of the Chinhoyi Caves is known as"The Wonder Hole", which is in fact a large cavern with a collapsed roof. The walls (or sides) of the Wonder Hole drop vertically down for 150 feet to "The Sleeping Pool" or Chirorodzira (Pool of the Fallen). The descent to this pool, with its sparkling cobalt surface is very impressive. Our Intimate Zimbabwe Safari includes the magnificent caves and we dare you to take a better picture! Spend 15-day exploring Zimbabwe with the comfort of Zimbabwe lodges. This comfort tour includes Victoria Falls, Hwange, Matopos, Great Zimbabwe, Nyanga, Mbizi, , Matusadona, Lake Kariba... and more! Priced from USD 3195 / EUR 2555 pp and local payment of USD 250... Our next guaranteed departure is on the 5th of September - only 5 seats left!
If you think you have a great African image that we will never be able to guess where it was taken then please upload it to our Facebook fan page - we are ready to get the answer right!
Thulani takes it all in his stride!
At the end of the day it's our guides that make our clients safari experiences special - they cook, they drive, they answer hundreds of questions, they make sure our clients are safe and well-looked after and, they work 24 hours a day on safari! And, with this in mind it's no wonder that we hire only the best guides out there!. Thulani is one of our treasured guides and after reading the below feedback - kindly sent from Nicola who went on a tailor-made Southern Africa safari - we all take our "hats" off to him!
Well done Thulani!!!
"Thulani was a fantastic guide who drove us over 3500 miles and cooked every meal whist catering to all of the groups wants and needs often completing very long days that could start at 4am and not finish till sometimes 10pm.Whenever we came across obstacles, like our campsite was flooded or the local gas refill store had moved, he just took and resolved all of these issues in his stride! His experience as a game ranger and as a tour guide for over 15 years shows in his fantastic experience of all the places we went to as well as the flora, fauna and animals. I was particularly impressed with his guidance during 3 days of wild bush camping. He also had superb experience in spotting animals; often spotting things we couldn't see. He was a really down to earth guide who made us feel really at home throughout the whole holiday. What made him a cut above the rest was how he dealt with a really difficult member of the group who had an eating disorder, weak bladder, restrictive diet, was argumentative with the rest of the group and was definitely not a team player. Thulani remained calm throughout the safari and dealt with everything in a really professional manner. When I return to Africa I will look for which tours that Thulani is leading and will definitely use him and recommend him to others, time and time again."
Meet Mucha - our secret novelist and yes, he is writing about us! Gulp!
Mucha has been with Jenman Safaris for just under 2 years now and is a great asset to the workshop department where he helps as a driver and assists in the tour preparations of our tour-bound vehicles - which as you can imagine is extremely important!
Enjoying time with his family around a braai, spending time with his friends at Zulubar (Cape Town) and relaxing is what Mucha likes to do when he isn't working hard at Jenman. He enjoys spending time alone - thinking about life and strolling around Cape Town where he can clear his head and reflect about his day...
As quiet as Mucha is he actually has a wild imagination and expresses this through short stories and novels. He has an extensive collection of work and his great inspiration is, without a doubt, Wilbur Smith! Mucha's stories and novels are actually based on his personal experiences and he uses characters he has personally met! This made us stop and think... are you writing about the Jenman Staff? "Yes, some Jenman staff have been featured in my current novel... you are going to love it"; Mucha said! Hmmm... I think we are a little bit worried now - are we the kind kings or the evil little toads? Either way I am sure that it's going to be a great read!
Mucha thinks that everyone should visit the little town of Ponta D'Ouro in Mozambique which is a scuba divers and fisherman's paradise with beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear warm water! "Well, if I am dreaming of being in Mozambique please don't wake me up!"... okay... we won't...
Things you should know...
