What our clients really say about us... behind our back...

We can always trust our clients to tell us the truth (good and bad) and for this reason we love getting guest comments and feedback! We even have a whole page dedicated to guest comments (our guest gallery) on our website... And it's great to hear what our past clients think - make us feel like we were on safari with them.

We obviously think our safaris are fantastic, but what do our clients really think and more specifically what do they say 'behind our back?'

This is what we found on 'Africa Guide' - a totally unbiased portal filled with safaris, tours, feedback and recommendations... basically a very trustworthy and well-known source. Paul (from the USA) went on our Botswana Untouched Mobile safari in April 2010... Below is his unedited comment:

I thought the service Jenman provided was excellent. We took the 14 day Botswana mobile safari (camping only) from J'burg to Victoria Falls. Our guide, Blessed, was very personable, knowledgeable, and hardworking, as was the driver we had for most of the trip, Sage. He basically doubled as another guide. Also, both were very environmentally-conscious, showing a great appreciation for the animals and landscape, and ensuring that we left "only footprints".

In Africa, you have to take what it gives you. For us, the rainy season basically went a month longer than usual, which made it impossible to get to two of our destinations. We missed Kubu Island, but Jenman compensated for this by putting us up in a very nice lodge in Maun (the Thamalakane River Lodge). Also, because the roads were flooded and impassable, we were not able to get to the mokoro rides in the Okavongo Delta, but again Jenman compensated with a cruise on the Zambezi that included all food and beverages (including alcohol). That was very generous of them.

The camping and campsites were excellent, as was the food. The lodge we stayed at in Victoria Falls (the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge) exceeded my expectations - very nice. The group of 8 was the right size, and the vehicles were great for the roads and for game viewing. We saw all of the big 5 and just about every other animal we could think of. My favourite Park was Chobe, which is extremely dense with animals. The Chobe River is beautiful and also had a very nice cruise. After this trip we took another 6 day safari in Kruger with a different outfit, and Jenman was clearly the better of the two.

This is exactly why we love guest comments!

Botswana Wildlife Breakaway - 2011 brings new fantastic changes

As you might have already heard - we are making some exciting new changes to our Botswana Wildlife Breakaway Safari (our most popular tour) to make it even more exciting for our clients! We were always slightly hesitant to change our best seller safari based on the principle 'why fix it if it's not broken...?' But when we approached some past clients with the changes and spoke to some interested parties the results were overwhelming... they loved the changes! So here are our exciting 2011 changes;

One of the most important changes that we are making is moving the popular 'highlight' of visiting the Chobe National Park to the end of the safari... Why you might ask? Due to popular demand! Many past clients have mentioned to us that the Chobe National Park is the main highlight for them and that they would love to finish at Chobe instead of starting at it. Wish granted!

Our next change to the Botswana Wildlife Breakaway is that we will be including the Hwange National Park into this safari! Again, why you might ask? Well we have so many great reasons... Where do we start? Hwange National Park is one of Africa's finest havens for wildlife and is home to vast herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra and has a very large concentration of giraffe. Additionally, it is home to many predators and endangered species plus a very large and varied birdlife. Hwange is also conveniently located near to Victoria Falls and has the largest (thought to be) population of the wild dog... add some ancient fossil dunes and Hwange easily becomes a highly sought after safari national park!

We can only wonder if clients will still think that Chobe is the highlight of the safari....? We have a sneaky feeling that they might actually prefer Hwange National Park!

If you are interested in this safari please contact us on info@jenmansafaris.com... By being our most popular safari we are pretty confident that seats will be limited for 2011, so it's best to book as soon as you can. This 14 day adventure is priced from EUR 1495 / USD 2095 per person.

** Our website has the 2010 itinerary and will only be updated when we get closer to 2011.

Meet Elana - your consultant!

Elana has been at Jenman Safaris for over 4 years now and started as a sales consultant (junior) and is now one of our treasured senior consultants as well as a team leader! Elana is one of those girls who is just nice; nice to everyone, nice to clients, nice to her team, nice to her colleagues... just plain and simply a nice girl and a fantastic consultant.

Since Elana has been with us for over 4 years she has had the opportunity to travel all around. When asked what her favourite destination is she immediately said Madagascar - St Marie - followed closely by the Garden Route! Madagascar has an authentic island feel to it and its so relaxing... The people are friendly and the beach is great to swim at. I also love the Wilderness Town along the Garden Route as its also relaxing but, most importantly, it's easier for me to get to than Madagascar!

Where to next? My wish list of travel includes Stone Town in Zanzibar as well as Ethiopia... because of the culture and interesting historical sights. I like learning about other countries history and seeing the historical sights where you can learn the story of how their history originated. It is more interesting than reading from a book.

We asked Elana to share her favourite restaurant in Cape Town with us... However Elana is a girl of variety and as she says "I don't have a favourite because I like quite a few places and where I go depends on my mood"... well said! So instead she gave us a list; I like to eat at fat Cactus - their platters are great and their frozen Margaritas are yum! A new favourite restaurant is Pigalle's - not only for the food but because it's a very special place for me and my fiancé! I also love Ocean Basket - the food is good and inexpensive... Take-aways are my speciality - that is more my idea of "eating out"... Simply Asia is a winner as well as the Jade Tavern Chinese Take-aways (they make really good Beef Chop Suey).

Wow - great options! Sure everyone reading this will find at least one place that they want to try!

The Soccer buzz in the Jenman Office... Ayoba!

What can we say... the world cup has been one surprise after another! Unfortunately our favourite team, South Africa, is no longer in the World Cup..... but they did make us extremely proud at their last game where they beat France 2:1!

With the soccer buzz in the office at a high we have decided to run an internal Jenman competition - we all predict the scores for each match and if we are right we get points and could win a voucher! As you can imagine it can get quite competitive especially in the Marketing department! And the game is harder then it sounds... Tobi is winning... but as everyone in the company says 'not for much longer'...

In the meantime we will keep wearing our supporting tops, playing our game and hoping we can get more tickets to the Cape Town Stadium games - it's fantastic there!

Ayoba!
